SKF series 3 linear ball bearings, plain bearings and bearing units
The SKF series 3 linear ball bearings and plain bearings are manufactured according to ISO 10285, making them interchangeable on all ISO-compliant models. Bearings of this series are of a superior quality and therefore also more sophisticated than bearings from SKF series 1. Because of this, the bearings from this series can handle higher load ratings. All series 3 bearings come in different sizes, each available in various designs. This makes it possible to choose for stainless steel and / or bearings with seals. It is also possible for most of the bearings to order a self-aligning variant. This tilting feature compensates for misalignment, which may be caused by inaccuracies in fitting or manufacturing, or by significant bending of an unsupported shaft. The majority of the bearings in series 3 is standard pre-lubricated with SKF LGEP2. This allows you to perform no maintenance on a large part of the bearings because this lubrication has a longer durability than the bearings. This is especially the case when it concerns a sealed variant.
Covered by the series 3:
- Bearings: LBCR D | LBCD D | LBCT | LBHT | LBCF | LPAR | LPAT
- Bearing units: LUCD D | LUCR D | LUCR PA | LUCE D | LUCS D | LUCF | LUCT | LUCT PA | LUCT BH | LUND D | LUNE D | LUNF | LVCR D | LVCD | LTCD | LTCF | LQCR | LQCD | LQCF | LQCT
If you need advice on the type and implementation of the bearing (unit) that is most suitable for your problem, we would be glad to help. During working hours you can contact us on the following number +31 (0)85 – 0661258.
LBCD D
The SKF linear ball bearing LBCD D is very similar to the LBCR D. This bearing as well has, due to its design, a high carrying capacity making it suitable for heavy duty applications. The difference with respect to the LBCR D is that the SKF LBCD D is self aligning so that it adjusts itself in the case of incorrect alignment. Available in sizes between 12 and 50 mm.
LBCT
If shaft support is sed, it is necessary to use an open design bearing. The SKF linear ball bearing is a ball bearing with an open design that can be used for such shaft support. Despite the fact that because of the open design less rows of balls are placed in the bearing, this hardly results in a lower carrying capacity. The LBCT is available in sizes between 12 and 50 mm.
LUCE D
The SKF linear bearing unit LUCE is similar tot the LUCD.The LUCE also consists of a light0weight, cast aluminium housing provided with a LBCD D self-aligning ball bearing. Instead of a closed housing, the LUCE has an open housing with an adjustment screw. This unit is typically used for arrangements requiring zero clearance of preload.
LUCT BH
If it is desirable, due to the application, that the bearing unit has a higher load rating the aluminum house can be provided with a LBHT heavy duty ball bearing. The LUCT BH has, despite its open design, the same number of raceway segments as the LUCD. The bearing unit is available in sizes between 20 and 50 mm.
LUND D
The SKF linear bearing unit LUND D is a closed bearing unit including a LBCD D self-aligning ball bearing. In contrast to the LUC. versions the aluminium housing of the LUND comprises the entire bearing. This makes the risk of pollution of the bearing smaller and ensures that LUN. models can be mounted differently. The bearing unit is provided with pre-drilled holes on the bottom so that it can be secured to prevent movement. The LUND is available in sizes between 12 and 50 mm.
LVCR D
The SKF linear bearing unit LVCR D consists of a closed flanged cast iron housing fitted with a rigid LBCR D linear ball bearing. The bearing, sealed on both sides, is located axially by a dowel pin. The flange is machined on both faces to enable mounting on the front or rear in either direction. The LVCR is available in sizes between 12 and 50 mm.
